FAQ

1. How much can you enlarge a picture?

There is a basic answer to this question and a more complicated answer. First the basic answer – our wide format printer prints on 24 inch wide rolls and can print a picture about 55 inches long meaning largest we can go is 24 by 55.

However, the size we can enlarge a picture also depends on a couple of other factors particularly size and quality of the original picture and the length/width ratio of the original picture. We can make significant changes to the length/ width ratio by cropping parts of a picture but we can’t do too much if we have a small digital file size or a poor quality original from which to work.

2. What will it cost me to have a 20 inch by 30 inch picture printed on canvas?

It will cost about $60 to have the picture printed.

3. Will the inks fade?

The inks used in this printing process are rated to last 100 years without fading. However, the inks are water soluble so we recommend covering the picture with a laminate to prevent the inks from being damaged.

4. How do you frame a giclee?

Giclee’s can be treated similarly to oil or acrylic paintings. They can be stretched on stretcher bar and placed in a frame. Some people also prefer to have them stretched on stretcher bar and hang the picture without a frame. Another way to do them is to dry mount the print and place it in a frame. Costs vary depending on the method you choose.
