Precision Measuring and Cutting

In order to make your work look its best, it is important that the initial measurements are right plus that the mats and frames are cut to exactly the right size. Our computerized mat cutter cuts mats to very precise measurements every time.   Similarly we use a precision saw with with a 110 tip blade and precision joining equipment to make sure for picture frame looks great every time.

Custom Fitting

Fitting your project together also requires skill, care and the use of specialized tools and equipment.  If the project is a limited edition print to be to be fitted using conservation techniques the first step is to fix the work to an acid free backing board using acid free corners.  The next step is to place mats and glass over the work making sure the glass is clean on both sides and is free from blemishes or scratches and that there is no lint or debris enclosed with the work.  The work is then sealed with acid free tape to protect it against atmospheric pollutants, dust, and dirt.  The frame is then fitted to the picture and the picture is secured in the frame using an airpowered gun.  The back of the picture is then finished with kraft paper and wired with picture wire.  A final inspection is given and the completed framing information is entered into our records system.
